I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, it was a rainy weekend in Atlanta, so I mostly stayed indoors. It was too cold for me anyway, and it was nice to stay cozy next to the fire.
I love staying home, it is my happy place. It is where I can let everything go and even though life can be hectic, my home is my safe harbor.
I also love traveling, learning new cultures, and meeting new people. Traveling is my second favorite thing to do, besides staying home. Which can be a bit of an oxymoron since traveling takes me outside of my home. But we all are multifaceted human beings and have the capacity to love more than just one thing.
What is your happy place?
Everyone should have a happy place where they are being 100% themselves. It doesn’t even have to be a physical place, it can even just be a state of being and no matter where you are; you’re happy.
I think ultimately that is what we are all striving for, to find happiness. Even in the most uncommon places. Yet that takes time and that is okay!
Finding yourself can be a lifetime goal, finding your inner happiness can take time and there should not be a deadline.
However we should all take the time to get to know ourselves and find what makes us happy. This is not a selfish concept by the way, I believe that when you are happy with yourself the people around you can benefit from it.
This isn’t some self-help, guru silly belief either, studies have been shown that when someone is content and grateful with who they are, they have better health and show less signs of being depressed.
This week I invite you to find your happy place if you don’t already have one. If you do have one, I invite you to spend more time in it. Especially around the Holidays, people can become very stressed out.
Remember, we cannot pour from an empty cup.
Mantra of the week: I Am Happy wherever I Am.
